In June of 2003, the Shenzhen Software Park entered a partnership with ZENSAR of India to form the SZ-SWP's Offshore Development Center in order to stimulate the local software export industry and to train local company personnel on the intricacies of the sofware outsourcing business. Zensar's role is to manage and operate the Center according to CMM Level 5 specifications in order to gather IT Outsourcing (ITO) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) projects. Zensar, through the Center, also provides CMM consulting on process re-engineering and other CMM related issues. With the full support of both the Chinese and Indian governments, the SZ-SWP's Offshore Development Center has secured an impressive number of projects. In fact, the Center has become a successful outsourcing parter of well-known global companies that include IBM, LIZ, and Fuji. The result of this has been a big boost to the local software outsourcing industry.
